The senior design staff of SFMI have worked together an average of more than a decade, providing continuity to our many long term clients and a tremendous depth of experience to our new clients.

Resources

SFMI uses a wide range of tools that permit us to rapidly produce contemporary architectural style contract documents for a wide range of owner and architectural team requirements.

SFMI uses unique database tools, built in Oracle 9 and frontended with custom applications built in-house to provide analysis, data access, research product alternates and to prepare project opinion of probable construction costs.  In house analysis tools are supplemented with a wide range of commercial assessment software packages for detailed analytics in everything from acoustical reverb time and HVAC noise modeling to loudspeaker propagation, fiber optic transmission, communication queuing and wireless system performance projection.

For drawing production, our staff uses a wide range of contemporary production tools including in AutoDesk Revit MEP (for BIM Projects), AutoCAD 2010, Visio Enterprise and SketchUp Pro for schematic design visualization.

SFMI carries $1,000,000 in Professional Liability Insurance.  SFMI maintains statutory General Liability, Workman's Compensation and Business Practice Insurance.

Certifications

Federal:  SFMI has been validated by the Small Business Administration as an Emerging Small Business.

State of California:  SFMI is certified by the State of California as a Small Business.

City of San Francisco:  Smith Fause and McDonald is certified by the City of San Francisco Human Rights Commission as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE).
