Scope of Services: Room acoustics including integration of 16' stop pipe organ, sound system design, HVAC noise control for a 600 seat chapel.  A memorial for the last surviving member of the Hawaiian royal family, the chapel is a Christian church in the Congregational tradition, executed in native Hawaiian architectural vernacular. The space is highly reverberant to provide a suitable setting for the pipe organ build by Walker of London, England, and for performance for performance of traditional Hawaiian language church choral music from the missionary period. Walker considers this chapel to be the finest setting of any of their organs worldwide. The sound system is completely concealed in the organ casework and the pews, all of which are built of solid Koa wood. The project won the 1992 Honolulu AIA Award of Excellence.
