Studio & Production Facilities

Smith, Fause & McDonald, Inc.

Selected SFMI project experience in the areas of audio recording studio, film sound stages, radio studios and television and video editing facilities are linked to this page by the buttons at left.

Further television facility experience can be found on our Civic Center and Sports pages.

Common facilities designs skills provided by SFMI to Studio and Production Spaces include:

  • Acoustics, including
    • Room acoustics,
    • HVAC noise control and
    • Sound Isolation
  • Facility programming design
  • Television Lighting.

SFMI can also design the video and audio distribution and switching facilities needed by contemporary studio environments. SFMI has designed Video and Audio transmission and distribution systems incorporating the following range of technologies to a meet a range of client  objectives, including:

  • Network Contribution Quality
  • Commercial Emission Quality
  • Wideband graphics Quality
  • Surveillance/Paging Quality

Specific systems designs have included the following range of diverse transports.

  • Short Haul Video
    • Narrow Band/Wideband Camera Triax.
    • Composite NTSC on coax to RS-250C Short Haul Standards
    • Composite NTSC on fiber to RS-250C Short Haul Standards
    • Composite NTSC on fiber, surveillance grade.
    • Composite NTSC on CAT5, surveillance grade.
    • Component NTSC on coax in RGB, Y/C, BetaCam and MII formats.
    • Component wideband (120 MHz) R,G,B,Sync on coax.
