  • Sears Point Raceway, Sonoma County
  • 1992 - Assessment of which portions of track operations contributed most significantly to the sound levels experienced by the neighbors. SFMI used synchronized recorders and remote communications to document the varying contributions of specific turns, grades and elevation changes. These were documented for the joint use of the track and the neighbors in evaluating a program of noise mitigation measures prepared by SFMI that would significantly reduce the level of impact of track operations.

1997 - Documented track's exceedance of Sonoma County General Plan standards in multi-day, multisite measurement program. Assessed track's preliminary noise impact assessment based on modeling by Others and established variances of more than 20 dBA. Draft EIR for raceway expansion prepared by a third firm substantiated SFMI's findings.

1999 - Testified at Sonoma Planning Commission Appeals Board Hearing regarding level of tracks impact.
