Project Description. This Conference Center is adjacent to Hitachi's primary Mainframe show room floor and it is used to orient their prospective customers on what they are about to see before they set foot on the showroom.

SFMI has designed and integrated the video and the automated control systems in such a way that when the presentation is finished in the conference center, the projection screen lifts automatically, the blinds turn to display light and the motorized doors open into the computer showroom.

SFMI Scope of Services:

  • In the Demo Room:  Design of video distribution and display, audio visual and integrated architectural lighting control systems. System incorporates data rate projection, high resolution ceiling mounted graphics camera, laptop computer interface, 35 mm slide display, wireless mouse control, remote PC and Macintosh control and display, remote mainframe terminal display, surround sound reinforcement, drapery and lighting control.
  • In the Theater:  Renovation of existing presentation theater systems to incorporate a high resolution graphics camera, new control systems for the video projector, BetaCam SP player, 35 slide, lighting and motorized doors.  Design of provisions to host and receive video conferences in conjunction with the Walker Room facility.
  • In the Walker Room:  Video conferencing room design to integrate existing mobile video conferencing system with three voice activated cameras and multi-microphone system.  System will function as either full teleconference, video conference or video conference with bridge to outside telephone party. Design integrates ceiling graphics camera, laptop interface, dedicated PC interface with associated whiteboard, remote control, three way remote codec monitoring port. Controlled switching feeds video to and from theater.  Room acoustics & noise control.
  • In the Client Server Demo Room:  Design of video switching control to highlight  interaction of mainframe client/server interface with PC and Sun graphics stations.  One button touring system sequentially activates spotlight over each station while accompanied by digital audio tracks and PC based multimedia audio that explain the activity.  Graphics are reproduced on 39" CAD level video graphics display.
