Districtwide Telephone Systems

Telecommunications Assessment & Modernization Program including design of Telephone and Campus Public Address Systems for every classroom and staff space on campus including integration of District Voicemail, E-mail, and Fax on District T-1 network with dedicated direct dialing to any staff member and to homework hotlines. The design includes 450 ports which are distributed among 3 PBX's serving 36 buildings on 3 physical campuses under 5 separate administrations.

District Offices

Design of new aerial wiring and replacement of OPX circuits with new internal distribution.

Study of fee-per-use dial-up circuitry replacement w/ dedicated fiber circuits in new outside plant infra-structure.

Additionally, provision of Educational Technology specifications and design of communications systems for subsequent High School Modernization Program.

Design to access Internet from computer stations at each school (60 on average). Each site received a T-1 link to the Marin County Department of Education which hosts a permanent connection to the Internet. The design links new and existing computer labs, classrooms and library facilities to new site router through Ethernet backbones. Project is funded by State of California CALREN grant. Specification of new campus file servers and upgrades.

Design of new computer lab facilities as a renovation of existing spaces at Sir Francis Drake High School and Tamalpais High School, including new structured cabling, Novell file servers, hubs, UPS systems, fiber backbone links and station interface.

Extension of LAN systems and Cabling at San Andreas High School and Tamalpais High School, including outside plant and inside plant infrastructure.

Tamalpais High School - Digital High School Grant

Consulting on options and costs to extend campus infrastructure to outlying buildings, including merits of trenching pathways to place fiber. Design consulting to re-utilize existing voice pairs as Ethernet spans using robust repeaters.
